Of all the subjects in school why is math the hardest? I know that I'm going to need it some time in my life but can't we learn about when we have picked our occupation? For example, unless you're going to be a math teacher or a professor of some sort is there any reason we need to learn about some of the things taught in high school math classes?
When will I ever use imaginary numbers to solve anything? They are not real!! They are just state of the unknown. You can't see them so why do we continue to learn about them? The only thing I'd use an imaginary number for in real life is to multiply it by my imaginary friend to make him real? Isn't that the concept behind imaginary numbers?
How about graphs that have a million lines going everywhere. Why do teachers make us identify these spiderwebs when in real life I probably won't ever see it.
My mom is decently smart. She knows how to do taxes and basic math. Whenever I asked her for help in elementary school she was right there to help me. Once I got into the higher math like 6th grade and 7th grade she didn't know how to do any of it. This might be a dumb question but how does a 7th grader do harder problems then a mother of 13 years? I don't get it. Did she learn the same math we learn now in high school and just forget it over the years? Or was she ever taught it?
The human brain can only store so much information. That is why we are constantly obtaining new knowledge and strengthening our brains to learn more. I believe that the human brain only remembers what it needs to remember. Most things, like math equations and problems or silly things we learn in high school are just deleted from the data base we call brain.
Now I'm not saying that it is a good to not do your math homework and to fail all your tests because you don't think you will use some of the math you learn in high school. I think that the big math Gods behind the math books should be reasonable with what they put into the books.
Now this isn't a hard equation: Math God + Easier Problems = Happy Me!

Tripper, this is a good blog this blog is the story of my life last year in geometry. The teacher if I did bad on some test would email my mom. It was very un-cool and made me mad. Then my mom would yell at me and I would get grounded. To me math is not important whats important is business class. Good blog son.
Finally!! Someone says what we've all been thinking our whole lives! I really hate math as much as you do. I never really thought that graphs, trigonometry, and polynomials could ever be incorporated into real life...And I don't see the point of learning them if this is to be true. Thanks, Tripper! I liked this one!
I am listening to Led Zep right meow. And about CSDEO, coffee is uber lame now. Tea is in now. And I am on the quest to find the perfect tea. I shall make it myself. But I recommend bringing your own mug to our meetings because microwaved styrofoam tastes really bad. Trust me I had some this mornings. And another concern of the MTC (Morning Tea Crew) hold on I just forgot it while thinking up that name...
Man, I really forgot I hate it when that happens.
AH yes, we have to come up with a name for tea. For example coffee is a "Cup of Joe."
So what is tea then?
Oh, lol, a glass of class or a mug of smug. Nah scratch mug of smug, its too college coffee sipperish.
